When it comes to nutrition, you are what you eat.
When it comes to fitness, you are how you move.
Movement is essential for human beings, it builds your muscles, it strengthens your heart and lungs, improves your brain and raises your mood.
Our bodies benefit from more energy when we move, when we care for our body it reciprocates. The most essential benefit of movement is energy. Weight control is a bonus. To get the most out of life we need to feed it with the right fuel it needs and moving it in any way that we enjoy.
Moving everyday and taking care of your body in any way is an investment and the return is priceless. When it comes to choosing what exercise is best for my clients, I always ask;
What activity did you enjoy most as a child?
Whether it’s netball, swimming, horse riding, cycling I believe it’s important to enjoy your movement. As adults we have to schedule our workouts, why should it not be something we enjoy doing? The three types of exercise I love and will never get enough of are Running, HIIT Workouts & Yoga Flow. I love them for different reasons, they rejuvenate and energize my body and mind. Even in my latter years I still want to be able to lace up my trainers for a jog, roll out that mat for a tree pose and still try to beat my personal best on squat reps in 30s.
If you don’t use it you lose it.
So ask yourself;
What exercise makes me feel alive?
What movement do I want to define my body?
